When your goals are big and scary, it is easy to doubt yourself. Now that I have children, I want to celebrate our family, our faith, time together, another year in the books, our health, and our love. I had this idealistic vision of nursing my baby and snuggling with him and having it be this beautiful, easy, natural thing. Look for a charity that you can really relate to. Let me know how it goes and what else you talk about in your family meetings. Whether it is Christmas, Hanukkah, or another year-end religious holiday, begin to read your children religious stories, set up a nativity scene, go to religious services, and celebrate your God in your way. But, it is important that the organization is transparent and shares how their expenses are broken down. Practicing self-care consistently will improve your health, help you get re-focused and be more productive overall, allow you to be a role model for your children and have more patience with them during trying times, and show you that you deserve to be happy and well cared for.
